New addition to the family

I am so excited to announce Brannon and Brooke's newest addition coming in June! :o)

Professor Adam

Adam has been asked to be a guest speaker for the Audit class at Carson Newman on Friday morning at 8:00. I am planning on going with him. It will be a roll back in time to our college years and first year of marriage. I asked Adam what he was lecturing on and he told me, but I didn't understand what it was but he assured me it had something to do with Auditing. Anyways, I asked him if he was going to do a group activity, and he quickly reminded me what it was like at 8 am in college life. I hope the class is awake! Should be interesting! Good luck professor!

Ryder Cup 2008

Ryder Cup was at Valhalla this week in Louisville, Kentucky. Valhalla has hosted some major tournaments in the past, and it was a great candidate golf course for this year's Ryder Cup. I went to the '96 and '00 PGA tournaments at Valhalla with my favorite two men, my father and Adam. I couldn't change tradition, so we three headed up to Louisville on Wednesday to watch a practice round of the tournament. In the past, we had always gone on the weekend to these tournaments. I completely enjoyed the informal practice round much better than I enjoyed the weekend play in years prior. As most of you know, I am not the tallest person in the world and it was always difficult to see over the mounds of people already there. The food was ridiculous expensive, but we enjoyed the air conditioning and food in the International Pavilion. We had a great time especially rooting for our Campbellsville natives, J.B. (John) Holmes and Brandon Parsons. Holmes and Parsons gave us some Ryder Cup stuff and autographed the ticket for Carson. Holmes and Parsons were so humble, polite, asked about the rest of my family who wasn't there, and Holmes even thanked us for coming. I am so proud of both of them. Carson didn't seem too excited about it when I gave him the autographed ticket. Hopefully, one day he will.

Other week news:
1) My brother had a hole in one today in a scramble!!!! I was hoping he won some big nice new ride, but I think he won a gift card to Dick's instead. He said he didn't see it go in. Way to go Bran. Bran and crew are heading to Disney this week to say their hellos to Mickey. When they get back, cute little Reece gets her orange cast off!!! They were over last night for dinner, and Reece is doing so well with her arm length cast. She uses her left hand so well now. Also, a Happy Anniversary goes out to Brannon and Brooke this week.
2) Taylor and Carson said their verse and have one more to reach their next patch for Cubbies( thanks to my Memaw for sewing those patches on their vests). We are working on it for Wednesday.
3) Adam is back to running all the time now. He is trying to gear himself up to run not the half marathon in March but the marathon....26 miles. He is crazy! I told him that I would support him whatever he wants to do......that sure is a lot of miles. Maybe if gas gets too high, he can just run to work every day.....He is planning on doing the small 5K race for the race for the cure in October. I drop him off to the Greenway on our way to church for choir practice. He enjoys running on the Greenway.
4) Speaking of gas, we started the week with the highest gas prices in the country 4.99, and ended the week at 3.39. Now something is wrong with that. It literally took almost a hundred bucks to fill up my van and now we are back to more reasonable. What are they thinking! Crazy, huh?
5) We spent the entire day over on UT campus starting out with basketball practice, tailgating, Vol Walk, band coming down, etc. I am not going to comment on the ballgame. Taylor and Carson are excited about going to the Northern Illinois game in a couple of weeks (Oct 5)....I think they are the only ones in Knoxville that are still excited about this year's football year.
6) Enjoy your upcoming week. Give God all the glory and Praise Him for being Almighty. God is Good All the Time!

UT Vol Walk

Carson has been counting down this day since last season or at least since the orange/white game in April. He knows that football season comes first followed by basketball season. He loves them both. He has separate jerseys for each of the seasons. Taylor enjoys watching the cheerleaders. She met one of the UT cheerleaders (in the picture) , Hannah from Franklin TN, on Saturday. Hannah offered for Taylor to come out and cheer with the real cheerleaders. Taylor liked the attention and has called herself "Hannah" a few times tonight while she is practicing cheers in the family room. Carson loves giving the players high-five on the Vol Walk. Another favorite of course is both Smokeys (the dog and the mascot). We are all excited and ready for the Florida game and tailgate next week!

Other news:
Last weekend, my adorable neice, Reece, broke her cute little right arm and is wearing a cast from her shoulder to her wrist for 6 weeks. Please pray for her. She is a tough little cookie, but I know at times it has to hurt to heal and must be uncomfortable for her. Also, pray for them as they are heading to Disney next week. This will be Reece's first airplane flight.

Last Tuesday evening, Taylor had her first dance lesson. It was a trial run. Taylor officially starts dance in January. She is excited about it. I am excited for her. Carson did excellent sitting with me in the lobby room waiting for Taylor for an hour. I was proud of him.

Last Wednesday, Taylor and Carson received their first patch for their Awana's Cubbies vest for scripture memory. They both now can recite 4 memory verses with references. Adam and I are proud of them. Our verse for this week is " His name will be called Jesus. He will be great." Luke 1: 31-32. Also, my wonderful small group (of girls) started back up. I was so glad. I missed seeing them each week....they are awesome Godly women who I know pray for my family daily as I do theirs.

Last Friday night, Taylor and Carson and I got to eat dinner at Cracker Barrel with my Papaw and Memaw. It was the first time for me to see them out of the house in 7 weeks since his life threatening surgery. I was so glad to see my Papaw is getting back to his old self.

This Wednesday, Adam and I are headed up to Louisville, KY to watch the U.S. Ryder Cup team at Valhalla. We are excited about going and seeing J.B. Holmes, a Campbellsvillian (is that even a word?) native.

Crazy Day

Crazy Day was Sunday. We left the house at 8 for 8:15 Sunday School at church. Adam and I had nursery duty in the Upaji Village from 9:30-10:45. Left church and ate a picnic in the car on our way to Dollywood. Left Dollywood at 3:00 and went by to visit my grandparents, Memaw and Papaw. Left their house, dropped Adam off at Greenway on Kingston Pike at 4:30. I then drove the kids to choir practice at church once more at 4:45. Picked the kids up from choir at 5:45, went by the Pilot on Kingston to pick up Adam who ran 8 miles. We were all starving...stopped by Salsarita's to eat. Then finially were home at 7:00 to take baths, learn memory verse for Cubbies, iron clothes for Monday, make lunches for Monday, and GO TO BED! Exhausted described us all!

The Fort

Adam built the kids a fort Friday night and they got to hang out with their sleeping bags. On the way home from preschool, I let the kids rent a movie to watch under the fort. They had a big time with their slumber party.

Football Time in Tennessee

After a day at Splash Country, we went over to Brannon and Brooke's house for dinner before watching the kickoff of the Big UT game. Thanks Brooke for the delicious dinner! Taylor and Carson always enjoy playing with Reece. They always have a good time. Taylor and Carson love to play with Reece's toys. It is funny how quick 3 kids 3 and under can quickly make a mess.

Carson has been waiting patiently for this day for months. He has constantly asked us when football season starts for Tennessee. Adam has taken him over to campus to watch some football practices in the last few weeks. We let the kids watch 30 minutes of the game before heading to bed. Carson asked Adam to DVR the rest of the game for him. He cracks me up! This morning when Carson woke up, he asked Adam about the game. Adam assured him that it wasn't worth watching again! Carson is already asking what time the band, cheerleaders, coaches, and football players will be there for THE WALK down before game time. Carson and Taylor made Adam drive by Lot G9 to make sure it was still there to tailgate. We are ready! After watching the ballgame late the other night, the real question is Tennessee ready???????
