3 yr old Bible Fellowship Class

Do you want to know what a group of 3 year olds look like at 8:15 in the morning? Ha! 2 Boys and 7 Girls.....I am sure Carson wasn't too happy about that. Thanks Cindy for the pictures from this morning. Check out Cindy's blog for more.
Adam and I have nursery duty next Sunday. We are thrilled that Safari Sarah and Upaji Village are back for the extended session hour. Thanks SHBC, Mr. Ed, Ms. Jamie, and Safari Sarah for all you do for our children.

Girls Day and Boys Day

Taylor and I went to a baby shower for my long time dear friend, Letitia Cox in White Pine. Letitia is having her 3rd baby (Jayce) in October, and I am so excited for her and Dusty(her humorous husband). It was a lengthy ride for a Saturday afternoon, but I enjoyed looking at places I haven't seen in a while. It brought back some good memories of college days, teaching years, dating years with Adam, and some awesome times with Letitia. Letitia is one of those friends you don't get to see very often, but always close to your heart. It was also great to see others from White Pine that I haven't seen in a while as well (including Dusty). Dusty added this HUGE addition on to their house (about 1000 sq ft or so), and I was able to drop in and see it before the shower. He did a fantastic job! I came home looking for jobs I thought he could do at my house :o)

While Taylor and I were away at the shower, Adam took Carson to play some golf. Carson has been hitting range balls and putting and chipping occasionally this summer. Thanks to his Papa he even has his own little practice green in the house to practice his putting (which all Taylors always need help with). Adam has mowed down a special spot in the yard for him to have his own driving range here at the house. On a par three the other day, Carson hit a driver and made it to the green while Adam of course hit an iron but was ways away from the green. Carson didn't like that Adam was having to go first hitting the next shot, so Carson went up to the green and grabbed his ball. He told Adam that he wanted to hit beside him. Adam said he would have traded places any day. Adam said it was different playing with someone that didn't know the rules of golf. Adam said he told Carson not to talk loudly or while someone is hitting or putting, etc. Carson told me some of the rules when he got home. Carson has really gotten in to golf here recently, but football is gearing up and I am sure he will start on that next. Carson continues to grow so tall and it looks like another set of golf clubs might be on this year's Christmas list again.

Spiderman and The Hulk

We heard that Spiderman and the Incredible Hulk were going to be visiting the zoo on Saturday morning. We were the second in line to take pictures, meet and greet Spiderman and the Hulk, and get autographs. Carson and Taylor enjoyed watching Spiderman do some special tricks. Hulk showed Carson his big green muscles and then Carson showed the Hulk his muscles. After our visit with the Marvel heroes, we adventured on to see the animals at the zoo. The penguins, sea otters, and gorillas are always our favorites.

Carson's first trophy

Carson received his first trophy at his baseball banquet. He was quite pleased. He has it right beside his bed with his individual pictures and team picture. Sometimes Adam and I find it tucked in his arms while he is in a deep sleep. He is quite proud. Taylor is his little cheerleader.

Back to School

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. Crazy week last week with school starting for myself, new preschool for Taylor and Carson, my birthday, Adam's rafting trip with work (which I could have a complete blog on but I won't...hee hee), Awana's kickoff, Children's Choir starting, family visiting, etc. It seemed like the week was just a blur. But I am back!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes from cards, phone calls, facebook wall messages, blog messages, text messages, emails, etc. It is funny how communication has changed in the last 5 years.

The Pictures are of Taylor and Carson making funny faces on the first day of preschool. They were ready and excited. All Carson could talk about was the biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Taylor and Carson are in different classrooms this year. There are six children in each of their rooms. The teachers said they did fine without each other. They would wave to each other in the hallways and in the cafeteria. Their teachers said that they would run and hug each other on the playground and then go play with friends. Funny stuff.

Bike Ride on the Greenway

Wasn't the weather this weekend beautiful? It was not too hot, not too cold, but just right! We were in Kentucky for the weekend, but came home early this morning to get some chores done. Once the chores were remotely finished, we decided to load up the four bikes (a sight to see for sure) in the van and head downtown to the Greenway around Tyson Park. It was a pleasant ride. The kids did very well for the hour ride; however they had to push their bikes up a few hills. Carson and Taylor didn't know what to think to cross over some major roads, but they listened very well. I was very pleased for how well they did considering they are still 3! I can't wait to go on another bike trail maybe in the fall when the leaves change.

Prayers

Just a quick update on my papaw. He is heading out of Medical Critical Care Unit into a room at UT hospital this morning. His esophagus was torn at the stomach lining and has clotted on his own. He ended up with 12 units of blood with blood transfusions and 12 units of plasma over a 5 day period. Times were scary. We thank God for his healing and we thank you for your prayers. We hope to have him home soon. He is ready to eat my Memaw's cooking again. And so are WE!

Happy 82nd Birthday Rosie!

My wonderful dear grandmother, Rosie, is turning 82 on Monday. I can't believe it! She acts so young. Rosie's mother, Mother Jones, lived until she was 94 so, we are hoping for many more years for sure. Rosie is a wonderful Christian mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She spoils us all! We love her so very much. Taylor and Carson wanted to give her birthday spankings (especially because of encouragement from their daddy) but they had to stop at 29 because they got tired they said. I know Rosie was glad. Happy Birthday Rosie! Enjoy your day.

On another note, we have had such an eventful last few days. It seems as if we haven't been at home at all. My Papaw (on my mother's side) was rushed to the hospital yesterday with internal bleeding among many other things. He is in CCU right now and doing some better after his 5 units of blood and 5 units of plasma (?). We will know more tomorrow through tests, etc. but just put him on your prayer list if you can. He was cutting up with my brother and me in the CCU, but we know he feels weak and just doesn't feel like himself.
